5 star City

Well before the game, I thought that Newcastle would feel the wrath, of a hurting City. That became a reality. Newcastle were hurt further, by the loss of star man Maximin.

City took the lead 10 minutes in, a goal from Gabriel Jesus. From that point forward there was no way back. Mahrez then grabbed a second, before Fernandez scored an own goal.

Step up David Silva, he scored then set up Sterling for a 5th! We are going to miss the Spaniard next season. A 5-0 drubbing, Newcastle certainly will not miss playing City.

Little Maestro was class

Liverpool win, despite good Brighton performance.

We had champions Liverpool, travelling to the AMEX to face Brighton. Brighton have picked up valuable points, and have moved themselves 9 points away from relegation. Liverpool are chasing the record points tally.

Brighton gifted Liverpool a goal after 6 minutes. Mo Salah curling a shot into the bottom corner, after Davy Propper gave the ball away. Not long after Jordan Henderson doubled their lead.

Trossard gave the seagulls hope just before half time, with a nice finish. Any hope was then ended by Mo Salah’s second, and Liverpool’s 3rd. Brighton fought on, but a win for the reds, and they move to 92 points.

2 goals for Mo

Burnley win again

Well one man who will be happy with how his team have played recently, Sean Dyche. They travelled to West Ham last night, another team in form, and it was probably the best game of the night.

West Ham had lots of chances, but they found Nick Pope in good form. He made great saves from Antonio and Soucek. Antonio also hit the post, when he should have scored.

The deciding moment of the game, came to Burnley. The ball was whipped in from the left, and Jay Rodriguez headed home, with some help from the uprights. A good game leaving West Ham still close to the drop zone.

Some top class saves from Burnley keeper

And finally….

The only other game saw Sheffield United, take on Wolves at home. This game wasn’t the best. Ruben Neves hit the bar from a free kick, coming closest for Wolves.

Sheffield United would win it, in the 93rd minute. A corner met the head of John Egan, who flicked it past Patricio and in. 2 goals in 2 games for the Irish man. It all but ends Wolves Champs League hopes.

2 in 2 for Irish Egan
